The annulus of Zinn is a fibrous ring at the apex of the orbit that gives origin to the four recti muscles (superior / inferior / medial / lateral). Structures passing through it include: optic nerve (CN II) / ophthalmic artery / superior and inferior divisions of CN III / CN VI (abducens) / and nasociliary nerve (V1). CN IV (trochlear) and the frontal and lacrimal nerves pass outside the ring.
