Correct answer: C — Phrenic nerve
The knee joint receives innervation from branches of the femoral nerve (saphenous nerve / nerve to vastus medialis / nerve to vastus lateralis) / obturator nerve (posterior branch) / and sciatic nerve (via tibial and common peroneal components). Hilton's law states that nerves supplying a joint also supply the muscles moving that joint and the skin over them. The phrenic nerve has no involvement.
