The Dahl concept uses a planned localised appliance or restoration in supraocclusion, usually anteriorly, to create restorative space. Posterior teeth are initially out of contact; occlusion subsequently re-establishes through relative axial movement of anterior and posterior teeth. It is therefore a conservative method for managing localised tooth wear where restorative space is limited. Option B is orthodontic retraction, not the Dahl approach. Option E describes orthognathic surgery for skeletal discrepancies. Option C is crown lengthening, undertaken to expose additional tooth structure rather than create interocclusal space.
