Gonorrhoea in pregnancy is treated with the same first-line regimen as non-pregnant patients: Ceftriaxone 1 g IM single dose. Ceftriaxone is safe in all trimesters. Ciprofloxacin is relatively contraindicated in pregnancy (cartilage toxicity in animal studies). Doxycycline is contraindicated (teeth/bone effects).
