Alemtuzumab can cause delayed autoimmune, renal, haematological and thyroid adverse effects. The UK SmPC requires the safety follow-up programme from treatment initiation until at least 48 months after the final infusion; lymphocyte recovery or a stable MRI does not terminate that risk period. Twelve or 24 months is insufficient.
