How does vandetanib affect metformin exposure?

In healthy subjects with wild-type OCT2, vandetanib increased metformin AUC(0–t) by 74% and Cmax by 50% and decreased renal clearance by 52%; appropriate clinical and/or laboratory monitoring is recommended during concomitant treatment, and patients may require a lower metformin dose.
