In adults, dexmedetomidine hydrochloride enhances effects with isoflurane, propofol, alfentanil and midazolam, including sedative, anaesthetic and cardiorespiratory effects; no pharmacokinetic interactions have been demonstrated, but pharmacodynamic interactions may require reducing dexmedetomidine or the concomitant drug dose.
