How does colesevelam hydrochloride affect levothyroxine absorption when taken at the same time?

In healthy volunteers, colesevelam hydrochloride reduced levothyroxine exposure (AUC) and peak concentration (Cmax) when taken simultaneously or one hour afterwards; no interaction was observed when colesevelam was taken at least four hours after levothyroxine.
