Tinzaparin sodium can be used in all trimesters if clinically needed with specialist involvement, but is not recommended with prosthetic heart valves; 175 IU/kg doses are contraindicated with neuraxial anaesthesia, and epidural procedures require ≥24 hours after the last treatment dose or ≥12 hours between the last prophylactic dose and needle/catheter placement.
