Why Is Heidi Evidence Missing? NHS Accounts, UK/EU Restrictions and Mobile Differences Explained

Missing Heidi Evidence access is not necessarily a technical fault. The explanation may be your account's eligibility, the region in which it is registered, the feature you are looking for or the device interface. Check those separately before upgrading, reinstalling the application or assuming that a colleague's access should match yours.

Check the NHS-account rule first

Heidi's UK and EU access guidance, dated 14 July 2026 and checked on 6 September 2026, explicitly excludes NHS UK email accounts from Evidence and trials that include it. That is different from an ordinary free-plan limit.

For an affected account, repeated attempts to activate a trial are unlikely to resolve the underlying eligibility issue. Contact Heidi through the official support route to establish whether the rule applies to your account and whether any organisational arrangement changes the position.

Do not change identity or location details to bypass a restriction. Apart from account terms, doing so may leave the product operating under an inappropriate organisational or regional configuration.

Record what is missing precisely. "There is no Evidence entry anywhere" is a more useful support description than "AI is not working". It helps distinguish access from a problem generating a particular answer.

Standalone Evidence and in-session Evidence are different

The same regional guidance describes standalone Evidence outside a patient consultation, but excludes in-session Evidence and patient or session linking for UK and EU accounts. The in-session restriction applies regardless of subscription tier.

Consequently, seeing standalone search does not mean that the system should also read an active consultation. Nor does a working scribe establish that all evidence functions are enabled. Documentation and evidence access are separate parts of the product.

A useful diagnostic question is: "Am I looking for general evidence search, or for evidence that automatically uses this consultation's context?" In the UK/EU, that distinction may explain the apparent inconsistency without any malfunction.

The regional page frames Evidence there as informational, research and educational support. Do not interpret a missing patient-context feature as an invitation to recreate that restricted workflow through another route.

Changing a guideline preference is not changing eligibility

A guideline-region setting can affect the sources requested for a general query. It is not a switch that changes the account's permitted features. Heidi's regional guidance makes that distinction explicit.

This matters in mixed international teams. Two colleagues can use the same product while receiving different functionality because their accounts operate in different settings. A demonstration recorded elsewhere may therefore be accurate for its presenter without describing your own account.

When asking support for help, identify the account region, organisation and exact workflow. Avoid sending patient details or a screenshot containing a live consultation merely to prove that a button is absent.

Look in the right place on the device

Heidi's getting-started guide, dated 23 July 2026, places Evidence in the iOS bottom navigation and specifies version 2.5.0 or later. It also lists iOS limitations affecting in-session use, source filtering, attachments and CPD viewing.

Those published differences mean that a desktop screenshot is not a reliable map of every mobile screen. Check the app version and the current device-specific guide, rather than searching indefinitely for the desktop sidebar.

The guide lists Android availability, but that does not establish identical controls or release timing across the two mobile operating systems. Use the documentation and support information for the device you actually have.

No account-level troubleshooting or device test was performed for this article. The steps here narrow the question; they do not diagnose an individual user's account remotely.

Organisational settings can be another layer

A managed account may depend on its team's rollout or administrator settings, as described in the getting-started guide checked on 6 September 2026. Ask the local administrator before assuming that an individual purchase is needed.

A concise support message can state: "I use a managed UK account. Standalone Evidence is absent on the web interface and on my updated phone. Please confirm whether this is account eligibility, organisational configuration or a fault."

That wording separates three possible causes without claiming to know which one applies. Include non-sensitive screenshots only when requested through an appropriate support channel.

If the organisation has deliberately restricted a feature, the next step is a governance or procurement discussion, not a personal workaround. The person responsible for the system should be able to explain the authorised alternative.

A short troubleshooting sequence

First establish whether the account is eligible for the feature at all. Then distinguish standalone search from session-aware assistance. Next confirm the platform and app version. Finally, check team configuration and service status with the relevant support route.

This ordering avoids spending time on device fixes for an account restriction. It also prevents an unnecessary upgrade where the missing capability is unavailable across every plan in that region.

For a reproducible fault report, record the time, device, app version, expected action and observed result. Use a generic question to demonstrate the issue. A support team does not need a real patient's history to investigate whether an Evidence tab appears.

A separate route for clinical reference and learning

This guide is published by iatroX and includes Ask-iatroX as an alternative for a different access route. In iatroX's September 2026 product information, clinical reference and free question access are genuinely free, without a trial expiry or professional verification gate.

Ask-iatroX provides linked sources grounded in NICE, CKS, SIGN and SmPC information from emc. Its published methodology describes retrieval, ranking, citation grounding, output checking and uncertainty handling. These are design features, not a guarantee that every answer is correct.

It does not follow that iatroX reproduces Heidi's documentation integrations or patient-session features. Select it for a clinical knowledge question or a learning task, not as a way to bypass controls on another platform.

For an eligible Heidi user seeking a missing control, follow the account and device checks above. For an NHS account excluded under the published rule, obtain a clear support answer and use an independently authorised reference route. For structured revision, consider tools designed around questions, feedback and practice rather than access to a scribe interface.

Frequently asked questions

Will upgrading enable in-session Heidi Evidence in the UK?

The regional guidance checked on 6 September 2026 says that restriction applies across plan tiers. An upgrade should not be assumed to remove it.

Why can my colleague see a feature that I cannot?

Account eligibility, region, organisational settings and device differences can produce different access. Compare those conditions before treating the difference as a fault.

Can I use Ask-iatroX without professional verification?

According to iatroX's September 2026 access information, free clinical reference has no professional verification gate or trial expiry. That does not imply identical functionality to Heidi Evidence.
