iatroX is now available on the App Store

Why an iPhone version matters

Moving from the browser to a dedicated app brings shorter loading times, reliable voice support, and soon the option to store recent answers for offline review. The goal is simple: help busy clinicians check evidence or outline a case plan in the simplest possible way and help students revise on the go.

Meeting Apple’s safety rules

Every health app is reviewed against Apple’s safety section, including rule 1.4.1, which covers software that might influence diagnosis or treatment. Apple asks developers to show that information is reliable and for appropriate disclaimers to be put in place.

iatroX provided evidence summaries, clear disclaimers, and a demo account during review. Approval confirms that the app satisfies these requirements.

Registered as a Class I medical device

iatroX is nowlisted with the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency as a Class I medical device. UK guidance states that clinical support software must be registered before it can be offered on the Great Britain market and must follow post-market surveillance and quality-management.

The registration shows that iatroX follows these obligations and may display the UKCA mark in its settings page.

What you can do with the app today

  • Ask questions and receive answers linked to NICE or BNF sources.
  • Work through a presenting complaint, history, and investigations to build differentials and recommended actions.
  • Practise multiple-choice questions for examinations such as the UKMLA or MRCGP, with explanations.
  • Dictate questions and listen to spoken replies when your hands are busy.

How to get started

  1. Install the app from the link above.
  2. Create a free clinician profile or sign in with an existing web account.
  3. Open the ask tab and pose your first question.
  4. Explore the brainstorm and quiz sections when you have more time.
