Failed PANE? How to Restructure Your Preparation

Repeating the same approach expects a different result. Change something.

Step 1: Identify. Which component failed — KBA, OSCE, or both?

Step 2: KBA failure diagnosis. Broad knowledge gaps across the matrix? → Systematic Q-bank reset + iatroX adaptive drilling. Specific topic weaknesses? → Targeted revision of those matrix areas. Time management? → Timed mock practice (RCP Revise).

Step 3: OSCE failure diagnosis. Clinical examination skills? → Peer practice + Geeky Medics stations. Communication? → Peer feedback + recorded practice review. PA-specific scenarios (escalation, scope)? → PA-specific OSCE resources (Matrix Education).

Step 4: Change tools. If your previous Q-bank did not produce a pass, supplement or replace it. Add iatroX for adaptive weak-area targeting (free). Add a PA-specific bank if you relied only on medical resources.

Attempt limits: Verify under GMC regulation — requirements are evolving. Plan resit timing to allow genuine improvement.
