To effectively support the educational needs of specialty trainees in your practice, design placements that expose trainees to diverse contexts and interagency working, enabling them to understand the needs of patients and how different services collaborate to meet those needs.

Ensure training includes competency assessment and ongoing clinical supervision especially when trainees or support workers are undertaking delegated clinical tasks, following guidance from relevant professional bodies such as the GMC, NMC, and CQC.

Provide access to up-to-date, relevant training courses that cover essential components related to the specialty, including safeguarding, team roles, communication skills (such as breaking bad news), and clinical audit.

Facilitate multidisciplinary learning opportunities to help trainees appreciate the roles of different team members and work effectively within teams.

Support trainees in maintaining and developing their skills and competencies through continuing professional development and practical training opportunities.
