A 23-year-old tall, thin man who smokes presents with sudden onset right-sided pleuritic chest pain and dyspnoea. He is haemodynamically stable with oxygen saturation 97% on room air. Chest X-ray shows a 25% right primary spontaneous pneumothorax with a visible rim between lung edge and chest wall. He has minimal symptoms. What is the most appropriate management?
